Helix Micro Rebar was used in large-diameter bored piers that required an ‘I’ beam in a retaining wall.
Originally the design engineer needed either an additional reinforcing cage or a larger ‘I” beam to cater for the bending moment below grade.
By using Helix Micro Rebar at a dosage of 12kg/m3 they were able to provide the required moment capacity in the concrete in addition to the moment capacity already provided by the ‘I’ beam, resulting in a smaller ‘I’ beam instead of a rebar cage, and a lower cost.
