New Dairy Slab – Tasmania

A new dairy shed, in a remote location, required a program of 10 adjoining slabs. The slabs were poured progressively to work around milking times. The old adjacent dairy was fully operational during construction and the cow herd wellbeing had priority over all other considerations.

Helix was used at a rate of 8kg/m3 replacing 1 layer of SL82 mesh. Deep ‘non-slip’ grooves floated into the slab during placement did not expose a single fibre and no time wasted on ‘Reo Wrestling’ was the difference that made the entire slab placement program a great success.
