APLNG Dozer Wash-Down Slab – Curtis Island, Queensland

Helix Micro Rebar was used to replace 2 layers of N16 rebar in a 250mm thick slab in a facility to be used for the wash down of D11 Cat Dozers. 

No rebar was used in this project and the engineer and builder reported the project as a 100% success. 

The slab was thinned from 300mm and with concrete costing $800 per cubic meter, this alone saved $40m² and the Helix saved another $40m² on steel and steel placing costs.
