This project involved using a thickened 250mm slab with only 250 deep thickened perimeter beams. This approach was used rather than importing extra quarry rubble or sand to raise the level of the floor. It also reduced the cart away soil from footings to nil.

The thickness of the slab was designed to facilitate the increase in height of the building to allow occupants to take advantage of the view from the site. This alternative approach using Helix reinforced thickened slabs and perimeter beams resulted in a huge cost saving for the customer.
